Be it museums that display cultural artefacts, educational museums about the railway heritage, or be it Zambia’s history in the dark arts, there is always something to see. Albeit sinister, the selection of witchcraft-related curiosities on display in the Lusaka National Museum and Livingston Museum provide an informative experience that is unique to Zambia.

More than 20 annual traditional ceremonies take place in Zambia, and planning your trip around one of these is highly-recommended. Partaking in the celebrations is one of the best ways to learn about the customs, cultural beliefs and social aspect to living in Zambia. The most popular is Kuomboka, a ceremony that takes place at the end of the rain season and celebrates the king of Barotseland’s move from his compound in the Barotse Floodpain of the Zambezi River to Limulunga.

-    It’s one of the safest countries in Africa
Zambia is one of the safest nations in Africa, according to the World Economic Forum – Nearly as safe as Great Britain. In fact, other than petty and opportunistic theft, crimes are not a cause for concern.
